AMI 0-3

AMI Montessori Orientation (formerly ‘Assistants’) Certificate Course 0-3

This course includes 60 hours of lectures and practical work, plus 9 hours of observation of children from 0-3 years. It is suitable for:

  • Classroom Assistants
  • Interns (Practicants and Apprentices)
  • School Administrators
  • Interested Parents, Grandparents or Nannies
  • Those who wish to gain a basic understanding of Montessori theory and practice
  • Those who are thinking of doing a Montessori Diploma
  • If you work with another age group, but would like to have a good overview of the development of children in this younger age group.

AMI Montessori ‘Assistants to Infancy’ Diploma Course 0-3

This course is suitable for adults who wish to work in a Montessori setting with children from 0-3 years. The 0-3 Diploma course is not a ‘Childcare Diploma’ – it includes a deep understanding of human development, from conception to 3 years, with extensive study including:

  • Montessori History and Theory for the care of children from 0-3 years.
  • Montessori Pedagogy
  • Breastfeeding, Weaning and Nutrition
  • Preparation before and after childbirth and how to support new parents
  • Development of Language, Personality, Movement and Social Skills
  • How to work with infant and toddlers in a group setting
  • Preparation of developmental materials
  • Observation and Classroom Practice
  • Developmental difficulties and creating environments to support wellbeing.

AMI 3-6

AMI Montessori Orientation (formerly ‘Assistants’) Certificate Course 3-6

This course includes 60 hours of lectures and practical work, plus 9 hours of observation of children from 3-6 years. It is suitable for:

  • Classroom Assistants
  • Interns (Practicants and Apprentices)
  • School Administrators
  • Interested Parents, Grandparents or Nannies
  • Those who wish to gain a basic understanding of Montessori theory and practice
  • If you are thinking of doing a Montessori Teacher training but are not sure yet.
  • If you work with another age group, but would like to understand the age group 3-6 better.

AMI Montessori 3-6 Diploma Course

This course is suitable for adults who wish to work in the Montessori Children’s house with children from age 3-6 years. It is an intensive study, that includes:

  • Montessori Theory
  • Montessori Pedagogy
  • Practice with materials in the areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and explorations of Art, History and Science
  • Classroom Practice
  • Studies of Theory and Practice
